23 September 2011

Officers are appealing for information following the theft of thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes from a shop in Aylsham.

The burglary took place sometime between 6.10pm on Saturday 10 September and 4.30am on Sunday 11 September 2011 at the Budgens store in Norwich Road in the town.

Unknown persons forced open a door into the premises before stealing more than £4000 worth of tobacco and cigarettes.

Officers believe a vehicle would have been used due to the quantity of goods stolen.

The burglary is believed to be linked to the theft of a large quantity of cigarettes from the Budgens store in Fakenham Road, Drayton the weekend before.

The incident took place sometime between 4pm on Sunday 4 September and 6.50am on Monday 5 September 2011. Unknown persons again forced open a door and stole more than £8,000 worth of tobacco products.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone with any information relating to either incident. Contact Det Con Louise Wicks at Norfolk Constabulary on 0845 456 4567 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
