Gloucestershire Constabulary receives over 67,000 999 calls each year and aims to answer these emergency calls as quickly as possible. However, over 50% of 999 calls received are not emergencies.
One motorist rang 999 after locking himself out of his car. Another person rang 999 to report a blocked sink.
In a non-emergency dial 101
When its less urgent than 999 ring 101Gloucestershire Constabulary answers the majority of your calls at a county call centre. However, it will still be your local officers who respond to reported incidents. Calls are taken at our call centre to offer the best possible service to you. Our operators will offer an immediate service or connect you to the most appropriate department to deal with your call.
Please note that our non-emergency number can only be used from within the United Kingdom as a direct dial number.
Callers from outside the United Kingdom will need to be connected via the international operator.
